Shooters, it’s time to test your skills and earn some bragging rights!

VFW Post 6073 Range is proud to host our Monthly Shoot — a unique and exciting event built around our signature Teach, Shoot, Compete format. Every month a featured Instructor will bring a new drill to the range, teaching real skills, building confidence, and finishing with a friendly competition to crown our Top Shot of the month!

This is not your average shooting event. Every month is different, every drill is a new challenge, and every attendee walks away a better shooter than when they arrived. Whether you are a seasoned competitor or just looking to sharpen your skills, this event is designed for YOU.

🎓 How It Works — Teach, Shoot, Compete:

📖 TEACH Our featured Instructor will open the event by introducing the drill of the month. They will cover:

• The concepts and skills behind the drill
• Proper technique and execution
• Tips for success and common mistakes to avoid
• A live demonstration so every attendee knows exactly what to expect

🎯 SHOOT Every attendee will get hands on range time to practice the drill under the guidance of the Instructor. This is your chance to learn, ask questions, and get comfortable with the drill before the competition begins. No one gets left behind — our Rangemaster and experienced members will be on hand to assist.

🏆 COMPETE Once everyone has had time to practice it is time to compete! Attendees will run the drill in an informal but spirited competition for the most coveted title on the range —

🏅 The Top Shot Title:

The winner of each Monthly Shoot competition will be awarded the title of Top Shot — a bragging rights title held with pride until the next Monthly Shoot when a new champion is crowned.

The Top Shot title is open to all attendees regardless of age or gender. The only person NOT eligible for the Top Shot title is the featured Instructor of that month’s drill — after all, it wouldn’t be fair would it?

📋 Who Can Attend:

• ✅ All current VFW Post 6073 Range members
• ✅ All current American Legion Post 30 members
• ✅ Guests of current Range members
• ✅ Open to all ages and genders — all are welcome!

💵 Range Fees:

• Current Range members: FREE
• Non Range member guests: $5.00 range fee

🎯 What to Bring:

• Either a pistol OR a rifle (the Instructor will specify which is required for that month’s drill — check this page and the Announcements page before the event for details)
• 50 rounds of ammunition for your specified firearm (Ammunition fees may apply)
• Eye and ear protection (available at the range if needed)
• A valid Range membership card if applicable
• Your competitive spirit and a good attitude!

📌 A Few Important Notes:

• All participants must sign in at the range log upon arrival
• All safety rules are strictly enforced at all times
• Eye and ear protection is mandatory for all participants and spectators
• The featured Instructor has full authority over the range during the event
• The Rangemaster’s safety rules and commands supersede all other instructions at all times
• This event is held monthly weather permitting — check this page and the Announcements page for any cancellations or rescheduling
• Youth participants must be accompanied by a parent or guardian at all times
