Youth Shoot — The Next Generation of Marksmen!

Young Shooters, this one is for YOU!

VFW Post 6073 Range is proud to host our Youth Shoot — a fun, safe, and welcoming shooting event designed specifically for the young members of our veteran community. Whether you are a child or grandchild of a Post member, a member of the Sons of the VFW, or a young person interested in the shooting sports, we want to see you out on the range!

This is a completely judgment free event. All skill levels are not just welcome — they are celebrated. Whether you have been shooting for years or have never held a firearm in your life, our Rangemaster and experienced members will be on hand to guide, assist, and encourage every young participant throughout the day.

Never shot before? No problem! First time shooters will receive personal one on one instruction covering:

• Proper firearm handling and grip
• Stance and sight alignment basics
• Range safety rules and procedures
• Hands on practice in a safe and supportive environment

Don’t own a firearm yet? That’s okay too! Come on out, learn the basics, and see if shooting is the right hobby for you. We have you covered.

📋 Who Can Attend:

• ✅ Children and grandchildren of VFW Post 6073 members
• ✅ Children and grandchildren of Post Auxiliary members
• ✅ Children and grandchildren of American Legion Post 30 members
• ✅ Members of the Sons of the VFW
• ✅ Young people interested in learning about shooting sports

💵 Range Fees:

• Post Range members and their immediate family: FREE
• Non Range members and guests: $5.00 range fee

🎯 What to Bring:

• Your firearm and ammunition if you own one (not required). Ammunition fees may apply.
• Eye and ear protection (available at the range if needed)
• A valid Post Range membership card if applicable
• A friend! The more the merrier!

📌 A Few Important Notes:

• All youth participants MUST be accompanied by a parent or guardian at all times
• Parent or guardian must sign a range waiver on behalf of all minors before participating
• All participants must sign in at the range log upon arrival
• All safety rules are strictly enforced at all times
• Eye and ear protection is mandatory for all participants and spectators
• Our Rangemaster reserves the right to determine age appropriate participation on a case by case basis

Introducing young people to the safe and responsible use of firearms is one of the most important things we can do as veterans and community members. We are proud to carry that tradition forward at VFW Post 6073 Range.
